Graduated in l960 from the University of New Hampshire, she worked at Chatham Hall Girls' school in Virginia as Head of Riding.  While in VA she rode with the Bedford County Hunt as a Whipper-In.

Married in 1963 to  Kenneth Morrison, she had 3 children,    The family travelled about the midwest as Kenneth attended various colleges.

Upon seeing and feeling the affects of Centered Riding techniques, she stopped competing and began learning to ride all over again.  She attended one of Sally's first instructor courses in 1983. In Michigan she also attended several United States Dressage Federation  seminars and workshops for instructors.

In 1986 Kenneth and Sam purchsed the 200+ year old farm in  Greene, Maine, coming back to New England after 25 years in the midwest.   The farm was appropriately named Welcome Home Farm.
